Step 1: Research • When choosing sometime to research try to look for a interesting topic • When researching it is good to use books, articles, websites and magazines etc. • When choosing a topic. Choose a simple topic with many sub-topic so that a brainstorm web and knowledge could be made.
Step 2: Finding Sources • Books, articles, websites and magazines etc. • When finding sources for your research paper use valid websites and try to stay away from : .com sites • Use sites such as : .gov, .net, .edu
Step 3: Source Cards • Create a source card for a book, magazine, or article. Write the last and first name of the author separated by a comma in the left corner of your note card. • Underneath the name, write the title of your book. Add the place of publication followed by a colon, the publisher followed by a comma, and the year of publication.

Step 4: Note Cards • Assign number for your book in the top right corner. This helps you identify which source and source card is linked to the information on the card. • Paraphrase, Quote, Summarize the information from your book in the center of the note card. It's important to paraphrase or summarize the information in your own words to avoid plagiarism.
