ELL: English Language LearnerESL: English as a Second Language ELL classes provide a language-rich, caring environment for students to learn English through movement, music, pictures, stories, games, and conversation. ELL curriculum is aligned with Ithan’s Language Arts curriculum standards Small groups in ELL classroom and regular classroom Kindergarten Lunch Club Progress Reports
Program Entrance and Exit • Entrance • Standardized test given to all students who speak two languages • Students with an overall composite score above 4.6 do not need ELL services • Exit • Standardized testing results: • ELL Access Test: overall composite score above 5.0 • PSSA: score above “Basic” level • Report Cards • RTSD Benchmark Tests • Monitoring: two years
