When you speak you punctuate naturally allowing you to express yourself clearly, however, when you write you must add in the punctuation to present yourself clearly. • Today you are going to revisit your primary school days and brush up on your capital letters!
Capital Letters re-cap • When to use them: • Beginning of sentences and verses. • For initials, names and places. • When beginning direct speech. • The first and main words of titles, books, newspapers etc. • Days of the week, month holidays and special days. • Acronyms: for example GMTV or BBC • When using proper nouns such as: English, McDonalds and Elizabethan. • When writing letters: Dear and Yours Sincerely.
