The Bigger Picture In 2009, an estimated 73 percent of Victorian adults had participated in some form of gambling in the past year. At the end of June 2013, Victoria had 27,867 approved EGMs in 543 Victorian venues. In terms of costs to the community, it is estimated that in 2010-11 the social and economic cost of problem gambling in Victoria was $1.5 to $2.7 billion.
