COPC Action Item Overview • Seven action items from the COPC 2010-01 meeting • Four remain open: 2010-1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4. • Three recommended for closure: 2010-1.5, 1.6 and 1.7. • Five action items from prior COPC meetings • Four remain open: 2009-2.3, 2009-2.9, 2009-2.10 and 2008-1.5. • One recommended for closure : 2008-2.11. • COPC Action Items Status is included in the reference materials • COPC Action Items not briefed elsewhere follow…

  5. Backup NWSTG CONOPS 5 • COPC Action Item 2009-2.3: The CSAB shall request from the NWS TOC the NWS Backup Telecommunication Gateway (BTG) CONOPS document to include a description of the data flows as it relates to COPC • CONOPS pending completion of NWS/TOC BTG plans • CSAB recommends this action be kept open

  6. Other CSAB Actions 6 • CSAB began coordination for an 18 hour outage at FNMOC in September; effort was stopped after outage cancellation. As a side effect of the coordination an item was identified for COPC consideration: • Is there requirement to produce SSMI/S UPP data at AFWA to backup FNMOC function • Would require like execution environments and coordinated Configuration Management • Would potentially require new infrastructure (compute & network bandwidth) • CSAB is updating the Federal Plan for Cooperative Support and Backup Among Operational Processing Centers (P14) by the Spring COPC meeting • TOC will be moved out of the NCEP section to a stand-alone section

CSAB Roles 7 • JAG/CCM Changes • Luis Cano stepped down as JAG/CCM Chair and NCEP representative on the JAG in Aug 2010 to lead the NCEP supercomputer acquisition • Chris Finnigsmier (AFWA) is the JAG/CCM chair through Spring COPC • Bernard Werwinski (TOC) assumes the JAG/CCM chair after Spring COPC • Cameron Shelton (NCEP) will join JAG/CCM as the NCEP representative
