Major European PTW Players Units • European PTW is a very fragmented market with 380 manufacturers and 818 brands in competition by 2009. • Until 2008, in the European market, Piaggio is the No.1 of all the brands followed by Yamaha group and then Honda. Since 2009, Yamaha holds the second place and Honda has taken the N°1 spot. Piaggio finishes third on the list. • The assembly of small brands are losing market share after the peak in 2006. • Peugeot and Keeway sold less than 20 000 units in EU market but are showing increasing sales for the last 5 years. Major European PTW Players (2) • In 2009 and 2010, in the Europeanmarket, Honda +HM is the No.1 of all the brands followed by Yamaha group and thenPiaggio. • BMW is the onlyleading brand whichregistered an increase in registrations in 2010 whencompared to 2009. • Keewaydropped 32,3% in one year and Suzuki dropped 21,3%.   4. HONDA PTW Sales By Region Units Source: Honda Annual Report • Honda Motorcycles' largest market is Asia. • North American market represents only about 1,9% of all sales. European market represents only about 2% of all sales. The sales in these two markets have decreased in the past 4 years.

HONDA 2010 • Honda’s net PTW sales decreased by 19,2% in 2010 yoy ( - $3,5 billion). • Total revenue in 2010 : $14,7 billion. • Key products : Motorcycle, Automobile, Power products, Solar cell business, Aviation business and Financial Services. • The decrease in revenue is caused by both a decline in unit sales and unfavorable foreign curreny translation effects. • Honda estimates that had the exchange rate remained unchanged from the previous year, net sales for the year would have decreased by 10% only. Yamaha PTW Sales By Region Source: Yamaha Annual Report • Asia is the largest market of Yamaha and continues to grow since 2005 (+ 19,2% since 2009). • « Other areas » are the 2nd largest market but it is relatively small when compared to Asia. • Sales volumes in Europe have been decreasing every year since 2005. The same thing is true for the North American market.

  8. Piaggio Sales Volume By Region ‘07-’09 • Europe is the most important market for Piaggio 74% (267K), in which, 32% (149k) is in Italy. • India is also a non negligible market with 16% market share (75K). • Piaggio's global sales volumes is decreasing since 2007.

PIAGGIO 2010 • PTW Sales: $1,36 billion in 2010 (-7,3% yoy). • Key Products: scooters, motocross, touring, racing, cruising, street, mopeds, super motard, off-road and mini-bike motorcycles, three-wheeled vehicles and motorcycle engines • Engine displacement: 50 to 1,200cc • Brand name for the 2-wheeler segment : PIAGGIO, VESPA, APRILIA, MOTO GUZZI, GILERA and DERBI

Suzuki PTW Sales • Motorcycle business represents 9,9% of all the Suzuki business (automobile and others). • Sales in China dropped 32% this year due to the introduction of tighter emission regulations (Euro 3). • Suzuki’s global PTW sales represent 2,695,000 units in 2010.   12. KYMCO 2010 Source : L’Officiel July 2011, n° 3791 Kymco is the largest PTW manufacturer in Taiwan. It is the 5th best seller brand in Europe. It is also the 5th largest PTW brand following Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Piaggio. Kymco produced 824 000 PTWs worldwide in 2010.

  14. BMW Sales By Region Units Source: BMW annual report • BMW' s largest market is in Germany followed by Italy. • US is the third market with about 11154 units in 2010. However this represents a decrease of 3,6% yoy. • Spain, France, UK and JP are the next in place with a volume less than 10K. • In 2010, BMW sales increased in most markets.

  15. KAWASAKI Source: KAWASAKI Heavy Industry, LTD annual report 2007-2010 Note: This graph shows the KAWASAKI worldwide sales of motorcycle, ATV, utility vehicles and personnal watercraft. Total sales for 2010 : 397 000 units (-24,1% from the previous fiscal year). Sales in North America declined by 59,4%. The only market which showed an increase in sales is « Other Regions » with a rise of 8,6% . Kawasaki projects an increase in sales in North America and in Souteast Asia and flat sales in Europe for 2011.

  16. Harley-Davidson Sales By Region 2009 Units Source: Harley-Davidson Annual Report 67% of Harley-Davidson market is in USA followed by Europe, which is only at 15%. Sales have dropped in all markets. In 2010, the decreasing trend continued in all markets except for a slight increase in Europe and Canada ( figures from the 1st quarter of the year). No exact data available for 2010 yet.

TRIUMPH Source: L'Officiel (juillet 2011 numero 3791) Even though sales in Europe have decreased by 4,2% yoy, Triumph has announced that after a decrease in sales of 14% in 2009, the sales have actually increased in 2010 by 1,5%. Triumph has 16% of the overall market share acording to the Motorcycle Industry Association.

  18. Ducati Sales Volume Units Source : Ducati Motor Holding SpA website Ducati announced it sold 63% more motorcycles in North America from January to July 2011 as it did for the same time frame in 2010. Ducati ended the year 2010 with an overall increase in sales of 1,3%.

KTM 2010 • KTM’slatest report covers 16 months (Sept.1 2009-Dec.31 2010) as the Austriancompanyrealignsits fiscal year to match the calendaryear, so direct yoycomparisonscanbemisleading. • KTM made a net profit of $ 19,7 million this fiscal yearcompared to a loss of $114,7 million announced in itsprevious fiscal report. • Vehicule sales, includingmotorcycles, sport minicycles, ATVs and the KTM X-Bow totaled 85543 units. A 33,4% increasewhencompared to the previous fiscal year (Sept. 1 2008- Oct. 31, 2009). • Off-roadmotorcyclesremainKTM’sspecialtywith 54838 unitssold. An increase of 50,9% yoy. • KTM street bikes sales increased by 19% yoywith 18531 unitssold. • The US remainsKTM’slargestmarket, representing 18,1% of total sales revenue. It isfollowed by France (10,1%), Italy (9,7), and Germany (9,1%).

However, sales picked up again in 2010 with 85543 units sold in total. Sportmotorcycle: It seems that it is a motorcycle whose displacement is less than 90cc and is for sport use.

His products in Europe are sold in using the mark Generic, CPI. • The Hungarian entreprise Keeway is one of the biggest motorcycle dealer of QJ in Europe. • QJ Group bought the iIalian Benelli in 2005, which brought him the technology for the 2 wheels > 250cc. • QJ Moto Group takes a part of capital of FAI. • PS: Before buying Benelli, QJ thought about buying the famous french mark Voxan, but finally QJ chose Benelli because of his international reputation.
