Reform Plans Proposed for Odisha As part of National Teacher Education reform plan, Odisha has to implement five projects: 1. Teacher Modelling for strengthening assessment competency of pre-service teachers. ( Dr D Sarangi) 2. Collaborative Learning practices to strengthen pedagogical skills of pre-service teachers ( MsLipikaSahu) 3.Infusion of Co-Teaching in Teaching Practice for Strengthening Teaching competency of pre-service teachers ( MrDaktarMurmu) 4. Integration of Technology in Classroom practices in Teacher Education at M Ed level (DrNibedita Guru) 5. Strengthening Democratic Classroom Practices in DIET ( Mr Tapas Nayak)
Benefit for Teacher Education in Odisha The projects can generate insight and understanding about how to go for large scale reform in teacher education to improve the quality of teachers we can have a clear road map for implementing projects in a bigger scale. The projects will bring the following benefits: • Future teachers will have better instructional skills • Teachers with expert assessment skills can be produced • Children’s learning can be more democratic and joyful • Quality of teacher education can be improved through technology
