  1. C. Claire Lucka Meet the Author: Mrs. Lucka and her husband Tom live in the California desert. He is a Field Service Engineer. They have two children, a son and daughter and four grandchildren. She retired 10 years ago after a 30 year career in the legal field. Since then she has embraced her passion for writing and creativity. Mrs. Lucka has written poetry, one of which “On Your Wedding Day” was published in a book of poetry entitled “Collective Whispers”. She is working on her memoire. She recently published her first book “A Thorn in My Rose Garden” about her personal journal of living with Parkinson’s Disease. She also likes to cook, paint using acrylicsand spend time with her family.

  7. Simone Simone Conreux is a young French girl living in the Alsace-Lorraine Region of France during WWII. German Officers take up residence in Simone's family home in the small village of Saint-Germain. Simone is the eldest of six children, four girls and two boys. This story begins in 1939 with the Conreux family and takes us through 1946 during one of the most difficult and memorable times in history. Even in war time, Simone finds her true love with an American soldier. This beautiful historical romance novel describes the courage, the strength the French endured and the hope, love and faith it took to liberate France.
