  1. The AVID Binder Strategy #1 for Success

  2. Rule #1 • Binders must be with you at school every day. • This means ALL binders if you have more than one. • Surprise binder checks can take place on ANY day – even when you don’t have AVID. • Why? • So you have everything you need to make good use of free time during the school day.

  3. Some Basic (Minimum) Requirements • Two pages of notes and/or learning logs per class every day (30 per week) • Assignment Calendars • Handouts, notes, and returned work/tests in appropriate sections • No loose papers! • Basic Supplies: see binder grading sheet

  4. Why is binder organization so important? Discuss with a partner and get at least two distinct suggestions written in your notes.

  5. Obstacles? • What are the obstacles to maintaining binders? • How can we overcome the obstacles?

  6. Binder Checks • First binder check: Next Class • Refer to “Binder Check” grading sheet to prepare.
