9. Classroom procedures • 4, It is a STATE LAW that textbooks be covered. I expect you’re to be covered at all times. • 5) Please do not ask “What are we doing today?” I can assure you we will always be working on something and there will be no “free days.” • 6) Do not ask to leave the room except in case of an extreme emergency. • 7)PROFESIONALLY SEALED  1.) Be in your desk ready to begin when the tardy bell rings. 2.) Alwayscome to class prepared. Textbook Notebook with dividers Wide-ruled paper Pens= red, black, blue OR Pencils 3. An unexcused tardy will be given if the necessary materials are left outside class and you have to go retrieve them. A zero will be given if work to be turned in is not with you in the classroom.

Unless permission is given by Miss. Eudy 9)Respect yourself, your teacher, and your classmates. Turn in your very best work-neatness always counts! Be Courteous to everyone. 10) Please avoid doing the following: • Placing your head on your desk • Combing your hair or applying make-up • Moving the desks • Crumbling paper and trying to score a basket… • Going to the trash can • Slamming your books on the desk when entering the room • Writing notes • Having your phone out, I will see it and take it up

11. MAKE-UP WORK & GRADING POLICY THERE IS NO RETEACH AND RETEST. If you are absent, its is your responsibility to find out what was missed. Missed assignments will not be given out or discussed during class. Make-up work should be completed according to the deadlines set by the teacher: see chart below. If you have a conflict that cannot be resolved, it is up to you to make other arrangements with me. Make-up work for daily assignments or major test will result in zeroes if not completed in the allotted time. 1 absence = 1 day make-up time 2 absence = 2 days make-up time 3 absence = deadline to be set by teacher Grading Policy MAJOR TEST/PROJECTS grades are worth 66.7% of your average. Daily test, class exercises, and group work projects are worth 33.3% of your average. Writing assignment grades and other assignments will weigh back and forth depending on amount of work involved.

12. classroom PROCEDURES NOTES- Before each Unit their will be a link online to download and print off a “Notes handout”. You may use these as we go through the PowerPoint for notes each Unit. These will be kept in your binder’s. Warm-ups - Each day there will be a “DO NOW” question on the board, which shall be completed on a sheet of loose-leaf notebook paper, by writing the question and answer. These will be kept in your notebooks and taken up each Friday. If missed, recommended that you ask a friend.

13. Positive consequencesExtra credit Daily- Tickets will handed out. These can be used to add (1pt per 1 ticket) to ANY daily graded work. 9 weeks- Each students will be allowed to complete ONE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT per 9 weeks ASSINGNEMT HISTORICAL MARKER RESEARCH SEE NEXT SLIDE

TEST to Replace: ________________________________________________________________ • Teacher Signed Approval: ________________________________________________________ • Overview: • Each student will choose a historical marker from the Gregg country historical list. Their assignment is to: choose a marker, take a “selfie” with the marker, research the marker, and then write a minimum 500 word essay recording the history. Students will choose a marker from the list and verify availability with Miss. Eudy, students will then research the topic and present the essay and picture within the first eight weeks of the selected nine week term. • Purpose: • Students will be allowed to research ONE historical marker, per each nine week term. Therefore, each student will be allowed a total of ( ___ ) during the course of the year. Students will NOT be allowed to double-up markers, ONE MARKER PER STUDENT. Each Extra Credit assignment will allow for the REPLACEMENT OF ONE TEST GRADE, per NINE weeks. • Outline: • Students will choose their Historical Marker from the Gregg county Historical list from Miss. Eudy. Students will then OUTSIDE OF CLASS go to the Marker take a “selfie”, begin researching the topic, and write the 500 word essay. • Grade Requirements: • This Page with students name, date, 9-weeks, & name of your Historical Marker • Test to replace filled out • Teacher’s Signature of approval • 3 cited sources of research • Final draft of the Minimum 500 word essay • Printed picture of “selfie” with the marker

Negative Consequences First Warning- Verbal Warning and correction Second Warning- Action taken (ex: staple food item and taken up OR held after class) Third Warning- Essay Writing and Action taken. Essays will be written 1 page and MUST answer the following questions: 1) What did you do? 2) Why did you do it? 3) Why is it a rule? 4) How will you fix it? Fourth Warning-Action taken, Essay assigned, and sent to the office with ISS slip Fifth Warning- Action taken, Essay assigned, ISS assigned and YOU will call your parents.
