  3. Vocabulary Meaning: • A simple machine consisting, in its typical form, of a cylindrical drum to which a wheel concentric with the drum is firmly fastened: ropes are so applied that as one unwinds from the wheel, another rope is wound on to the drum.

  4. History: • Wheels work in two ways: its easier to use, its creates less friction and it shortness work time. By using the axle it’s a shorter distance to turn and uses more force. They were first created in Sumeria for pottery wheels.
