Herbivores Kangaroo Rat: It adapted to the lack of water in the desert. Camel: The hump of the camel is used to store water since very little rain falls per year Big Horn Sheep: Body built for this terrain. Cactus Wren: Rough feet to prevent cactus thorns. Desert Toad: The shape of this toad’s body is used as camouflage. It actually makes some animal think is a rock or stone on the ground. Hump Day!
Carnivores Armadillo Lizard: Rolls into a ball to get away Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy Owls: Its size helps it hide in small places. Thorny Desert: Shoots blood out of its eyes at its attacker. Bobcat: Its fur is used as camouflage to stalk its prey. Tarantula: its “hair” is used to irate the attackers skin and give it a chance to get away.
