Parent Education Mission: We will equip our parents with the tools and resources to empower their children through training and workshops. We will engage the parents and community in academic, extracurricular, and outreach activities.
Why Parent Involvement? • Decades of research show that when parents are involved students have: • Higher grades, test scores, and graduation rates • Better school attendance • Increased motivation, better self-esteem • Lower rates of suspension • Decreased use of drugs and alcohol • Fewer instances of violent behavior
Federal and State Requirements • Parent involvement components are required in the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), and various federal and state education programs.
Academic Empowerment Parent Empowerment Plan: Parent and Parent Educator set: Individual Parent Plan (IPP) Goals and dates for education, training, and employment for parents.

Parent Involvement In Middle Schools Parents of middle school students often report feeling that children should: Do homework alone, and that the parents shouldn't try to help if they're not experts in the subject. Middle schools are larger and more impersonal than most elementary schools. Organizing a middle school so that at least one person knows each child well, Keeping a "parent room" in the building. And sponsoring parent-to-parent communication and events are key parts of an effective parent-involvement program in the middle grades (Berla, Henderson, & Kerewsky, 1989).
