Who is the East India Trading Company?(pg. 358, Map) • Founded in 1600’s when British set up trading posts at Bombay, Madras, and Calcutta • Company ruled India with little interference from British government until beginning of 19th Century • Company held it’s own army led by British officers and sepoys (Indian soldiers)
