What should you expect… • 2 - ½ day corporate visits per day • Must attend ALL corporate presentations No Exceptions, unless flex-time/mode students • Happy Hour w/ other B-Schools • Targeted Alumni Lunches/Dinners • Potential Weekend Trip (Optional)
What is expected … • Arrive 30 min prior to presentation & enter as group • Late arrivers may not attend - No exceptions • During the meeting – Be Attentive and Polite • No Outside Food • Do Your Homework and Prepare in Advance! There are Stupid Questions • No Falling Asleep…Stay Attentive
Attire is Business Casual But bring a suit just in case!
Resumes • The B&T Club will prepare a Resume Packet for each company • Prepare Resumes & Purchase Business Cards • Bring extra copies of your resume & business cards • Hardcopy resumes printed on cotton or linen paper • Submission Deadline: December 8, 2006 • Email to Ed Shelton @ eshelton@andrew.cmu.edu with the subject as “ West Coast Trip Resume”. • Include full name in document title
Travel Arrangements • Each individual will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and accommodations while in the San Jose area • Travel will not be provided by B&T • Plan to fly into the San Jose Airport (SJC) • Lodging • Plan to email potential hotels • Students have connected with other friends or students • www.choicehotels.com or www.cheaprooms.com to get started
Trip Packets Developed • Will be provided to you • 1 copy via e-mail • E-Copy on Club Website • What does the Trip Packet include? • Basic information included in this presentation • Directions to hotel, companies, alumni events • Background info about each company
Sign up today! • Send email by Dec 1 to eshelton@andrew.cmu.edu to confirm your attendance • A survey will be sent out to those who email • Drop off $50 deposit in Ed Shelton’s mailbox by December 8th or pay now! • B&T Members: $50 conditionally refundable deposit • Must follow basic etiquette rules! • Non-Club Members: $50 non-refundable fee • You avoid this fee by joining the B&T Club and dropping off the deposit before December 8th • Make checks payable to Carnegie Mellon University • Write “B&T West Coast Trip 2007” in the Memo field • Finalize your resume and submit it by Dec. 8th to eshelton@andrew.cmu.edu: “West Coast Trip Resume”
