Knowledge forms the basis for decision-making Social actors, interfaces and stakeholders are constantly confronted with and by decisions they take Decisions must and can be ‘quality assured’ Tools about how to quality assure decisions exist and should be disseminated to decision-makers An emerging knowledge based economy relies on quality assured decisions by all actors mentioned above K Jurgens November 24-25 2008 Ankara Turkey

Food for thought 1 Finland and the creative economy Finland has a Committee for the Future – I suggest Turkey should have one, too The Finnish committee is run by Parliament It says a society must be caring, equal, provide confidence, communality, be encouraging, defend individual freedoms, promote creativity, allow visionaries, balance these eight = the meta-level and act meaningful K Jurgens November 24-25 2008 Ankara Turkey

Further, the current tendencies towards more polarized societies announce that this process is on the rise. We observe recurrent conflict among social, political, ethnic or religious groups, as well as among regions and nations.
