Enterprise Geospatial Architecture Presentation June 29, 2005
Objective Vision Key Concepts • Multi-INT/Multi-Source • All types of data are relevant, spatially and temporally • Agile Infrastructure • Push repetitive, time consuming activities down into the infrastructure, freeing the analyst to focus on analysis • Dynamically access data at it’s source, through a standards based, service oriented architecture • Offer access to (and views into) it’s spatial data holdings through task appropriate clients • GAC Tradecraft • Tradecraft is how/when/where geospatial analysis gets done • Will require training new personnel in the tradecraft • Tradecraft will need to evolve to maximally exploit new available technologies • Trust and Accuracy • Analysts must understand data and process pedigrees before committing to their use • Product Independent Dissemination • Infrastructure must be able to dynamically support a wide variety of product outputs in support of a variety of data uses

Current Status • Functional prototype used for briefings and demos. Working towards production capability within next 6-12 months. • Auto-Ortho for Commercial Imagery Phase 2 complete. Transition to production in next 6 months. • Awaiting funds to proceed with Auto Terrain, Feature and Mosaic. • Awaiting funds to proceed with security model implementation. • Working towards EGIA Program Office within Agency. • EGIA incorporated into Agency ETA by CIO Chief Architect.
