The city was planned and founded in the 1920s by American immigrants

Raanana is built around two main arterial roads, east to west, and a grid of streets from north to south. The city has three connections to intercity highways two additional intercity highways are planned + railway, that will help redirect the traffic along the city's streets.
Ahuza street - the city center Ahuza Street is one of Raanana's two arterial roads and it is the city's main street. The street is comprised of residential buildings, as well as commercial and entertainment venues. Along the street are cafés and small restaurants, boutiques and other shops.
Implementation of the project BEGAN IN OCTOBER 2006

More facts The municipality appointed a coordinator in charge of the contact with the residents and shop owners . During the renovation work, the shop owners were given a reduction on their city taxes, due to the expected losses in income resulting from the construction work.
