VISION STATEMENT • To focus community interest in building a better understanding for the citizens of the greater Sierra Vista area to learn about the people and cultures of Radebeul, Germany, and Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, through reciprocal visits and cultural, education and goodwill exchange programs.

  4. MISSION STATEMENT • It is the mission of the City of Sierra Vista’s Sister Cities Commission to establish and maintain relationships with our sister cities of Radebeul, Germany, and Cananea, Sonora, Mexico.

  5. ACTIVITIES2013-2014 Cananea Radebeul Student Exchange 2014 Exchange of City pictures for Radebeul’s City Hall Park Business Exchange Weinfest in Radebeul Tourism – Wild West * Youth Center – Internet Portal online Chess Competition online Game Competition • Exchange with Radebeul • Meetings with Mayor/City Council/Sister City Committee • Assistance to Students Enrolled at the Technical Institute • Books for English Library • Children’s Clothing • Senior’s Home Outreach • Participation in Diversity Fair

Activities cont. • Fundraising event Oktoberfest September 2013 • Diversity Fair 2013 Exhibit from Mexico & Germany • Student get together Cananea and Sierra Vista throughout the year • Visited Sister City Club in High School for exchange of ideas • Hosted Students from Germany February 2013 • Hosted Radebeul Mayor for a 1 week visit and exchanged ideas • Visits to Douglas Consulate and Cananeathroughout the year

  8. 2014 Goals • Evaluate current activities • Develop new Programs - Reinstating Student Exchange between BHS and Radebeul in October/November - Expansion of Sister City Club in BHS - Involve more schools within Sierra Vista - Youth Center/ Sister City Club - Work with Tourism Office for opportunities to promote SV * Participation in the Oktoberfest in Sierra Vista for fundraising • Furthering a better exchange between Cananea and Radebeul on various City levels
