  2. What is the Project ? LETS stands for Light electric transport system Within the Lets–Project students of different nations work together with industry and country council to create an environmentally friendly infrastructure for our home town. To achieve this aim it is necessary: to investigate to compare to meet to discuss to change

  3. Why do we need the project? General : - Contribute to an international understanding for the needs of an environmentally friendly world - help to overcome prejudice - Get to know each other‘s way of life and culture

  4. For students : • to experience the complexity of tasks and • efforts from concept to the finished product - to find new tools, new methods, new material • to promote flexibility and feeling of • responsibility for the team and the environment - to ease one‘s way into the professional world • to gain self–confidence to open a • business of one‘s own - to have lots and lots of fun 

  5. College : • develop modern media systems using • video-conferencing and distant learning practices • directly into the classroom of the LETS-Partners • develop a system of giving and taking of • teachers and students - introduce an international network of colleges involved with industries. - promote the strength of teamwork and the idea of belonging - active exchange of ideas and methods

What is the Outcome ? • Create new concepts of environmentally friendly means of transport • Produce the total design for a „source kit“ for a solar filling station • Build a solar filling station under the aspects of: - creativity - feasibility - competition - economics - aesthetics - all technical aspects • Build an electric scooter, fit together an e-car (InnoVan) • Experience-projects with different electric vehicles • Generate an internationally recognized certificate for environmental technologies • Produce distant learning packages for international industry- college-network

  8. For the environment : - identify and use modern technology to raise environmental awareness. • find a new concept for resolving public • problems • transport and energy conservation - help reduce pollution of any kind  noise  exhaust fumes chemical substances  LETS 

  9. How will the project be managed ? Colleges: - Steering committee meetings (4 x per year) - Student exchanges (4 weeks per year) - Team meetings (national) (ca. once a month) • permanent communication: • (via video-conferencing, e-mail, Internet, etc.)
