Seeing as the majority of my family including my mum and dad come from the Islam religion and although we do not practice it, I would like to put my first symbol as the crescent and star. This symbol represents how Muslims thousands of years ago worshiped the sun, moon and the sky gods. I also have a strong belief in god and that is why I chose this symbol to be first.
For Buddhists, the Wheel of Life represents Samsara. Samsara's meaning- the cycle of existence, birth and death, which is characterized by suffering and in which we are born again and again until we reach Nirvana, the state beyond suffering. I personally see how the wheel of life is a very strong symbol in the Buddhism religion because of the affect it has on the Buddhist monks and how spiritually calm they are.
This is the swastika. the swastika comes from the Hindu religion and represents the that it is important to be good and be higher with one’s self which basically I thought that it meant it is important not only to be good physically and mentally but also that it is very important to be good with one’s self spiritually which I think is highly important. in ancient times the swastika also represented good luck and prosperity which I think everyone should believe in.
My last symbol is the cross. The cross has such an effect on myself because every time I see it, it reminds me about how much Jesus Christ sacrificed for us. He sacrificed himself so we don’t have to pay for our sins. Even though my parents families are from the Islam religion, I would like to consider myself to have more Christian beliefs because of what I have learnt so far. This does not mean I consider myself a Christian, it just means I think from what I have learnt so far, Christianity makes the most sense to myself.
