What? • To gain entry level skills and competencies in the three areas of dietetic practice (administrative, clinical and community) • To understand and incorporate Standards of Practice There are three routes for dietetic practicum • DC Match (or post-degree) • Integrated with undergraduate degree • Accompanying a graduate degree • See the DC web site for more details

Where? – MSVU Integrated • Bulletin Board outside E366 • Current and long term agreements • Don’t find your own • Relocation for placements • Be prepared to move and explore new locations and opportunities • It is against program policy to contact potential placements • risk to you, program and university • See the Department Applied Human Nutrition web site for more information: http://www.msvu.ca/nutrition/

Where? – With Graduate Degree • Meant to facilitate graduate studies • Not an “easy” route to internship • Separate from the MScAHN degree • Internship competencies are the same as for the internship integrated with undergraduate or DC Match programs • See DC web site for internships with graduate programs • Variations on costs and focus

  6. When? • DC Match • Apply by 30 Jan prior to graduation • Integrated • Apply by 15 Dec in third year of BScAHN • Graduate (MScAHN) • Apply by 1 March for a September admission

  8. How – MSVU Integrated • Application forms available from Internship Office • Transcripts and GPA’s • Confidential reports (references) • Who to ask? • Professional • Employer • Faculty • Faculty interviews • Written challenge ( early Jan, 1 hour) • Resume – provide detail
