What is ATA TICC • Air Transport Association Technical Information and Communications Committee • International participation includes: • ATA - Airlines of North America • AIA - American Manufacturers • AECMA - European Manufacturers • AEA - European Airlines • Many Component Suppliers • System Integrator Companies
TICC Vision • Develop and maintain common standards for data interchange to minimize business costs • To promote the use of common standards across the industry
TICC Objectives • Develop, maintain, and publish specifications describing industry standards for the electronic exchange of technical data for flight operations, engineering, and maintenance of aircraft • Define a common set of business processes, rules, and implementation of existing technologies for the electronic exchange of technical data
TICC Specifications • iSpec 2200 - Information Standards for Aviation Maintenance and Flight Operations • Authoring requirements • Presentation requirements • Digital interchange & delivery requirements • CSDD (Common Support Data Dictionary) • Repository of common terms & definitions • Continual harmonization of terms across Specifications

E-Business Advisory Committee • Member airlines providing direction and resources to ATA TICC & Spec 2000 • Initially identified 12 TICC projects based on the business needs • Focusing on quicker return on investments of resources and time
TICC Leadership • TICC Steering Group • Provide direct leadership • Strategy • Overall TICC program management • Executive Committee • Working Group Chairpersons • Facilitate technical discussions
Working Groups electronic Text Working Group(eTEXT) – Supports interchange of technical data through the creation & maintenance of technical requirements and mark up language mechanisms (DTDs, Schemas) Graphics – Guidelines for the implementation of advanced functionality using intelligent graphic structures, use of color & photos, etc.
Working Groups Direct Access and Retrieval Technologies (DART) – Specifications for transfer, access, and retrieval of digital information using open standards and existing / emerging technologies • Digital Signatures and Digital Certificates • Network Protocol Requirements
Working Groups Data Model – Consists of Business Information Architects who support 5 functional areas: • Maintenance Procedures – How • Maintenance Requirements – What & When • Flight Operations – Phases of Flight • Configuration Management – Functional, Allowable & Operational Content • Generic Resources – Revision Markup, Effectivity
Working Groups Future Data Exchange (FDE) – Defining standards for the exchange of information “objects” that can be reused across business processes and applications • Consistency and Reliability of Information • Reusability of Information Sets • Interoperability Between Systems • More Accurate and Timely Distribution of Information
