PowerSchool Parent PortalIntroduction • PowerSchool Parent Portal gives parents access to real-time information including attendance, grades, detailed assignment descriptions, school bulletins, lunch account balance, and even personal messages from the teacher. • Everyone stays connected and parents are able to participate more fully in their student’s progress.
PowerSchool Parent PortalSingle Sign on Account • Parents/guardians can access multiple students with one login. This requires that every parent/guardian create one account in the Parent Portal which is called the Parent Portal Single Sign On Account. Once you have completed creating your account you may log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal. You only have to create your account once. • If you have not created an account or you are brand new to our school district in order to create an account you must have the Access ID and Password for each student enrolled in school.
PowerSchool Parent Portal Single Sign on Account How to Create a Parent/Guardian Account: • Use this procedure to create a new parent/guardian account. In order to create an account, you must have the Access ID and Password for each student enrolled in school. You will then associate each child to your parent/guardian account using the Access ID and Password. The Access ID and Password are assigned by the school district. If you do not have this information or have questions, contact the PowerSchool Administrator. • Open your Web browser to the PowerSchool Parent Portal URL which is http://powerschool.bpd3.org/public or you may visit our website at www.bpd3.org and click on Parent Resources, then click on PowerSchool, lastly click on Parent Portal Log-on Screen. The Log In page appears.

PowerSchool Parent PortalGetting Started • To get started, you must log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal. • Go to the Beach Park School District Website at www.bpd3.org. • Click on Parent Resources • Click on PowerSchool • Click on Parent Portal Logon Screen OR • Type in this URL in your address bar: http://powerschool.bpd3.org/public
PowerSchool Parent PortalSign In Screen • Enter your username in the first field. • Enter your password in the second field. Note: The characters appear as asterisks (*) to ensure greater security when you log in. • Click Submit. The PowerSchool Parent Portal start page appears.

PowerSchool Parent PortalStart Page • The Navigation Menu serves as the central point from which to navigate the pages of the PowerSchool Parent Portal. • Click Help to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal online help. Assistance is just a click away! • Click Sign Out to quit the PowerSchool Parent Portal. • Clicking on the Notifications Icon displays your last log in date and time. • Click the PrinterIcon to print the current screen.
PowerSchool Parent PortalStart Page – Navigation Bar • The Navigation Bar appears at the top of the start page and is common to every page in the application. The navigation toolbar includes the first names of the students associated to your parent account and appear in alphabetical order. Click the name of the student for whom you want to view information. The page refreshes and displays information for the selected student. PowerSchool Parent PortalGrades and Attendance Screen • On the Grades and Attendance screen you will see the student’s overall current grade for each period/subject. • To view grade details, click a grade in the term column. The Class Score Detail page appears. NOTE: Any text in blue in PowerSchool is a link to another screen. Click on a blue word or phrase and you will open up another screen. PowerSchool Parent PortalClass Score Detail Screen • From the Class Score Detail page assignments are listed. A caret (^) indicates score is exempt from final grade. An asterisk (*) indicates an assignment is not included in the final grade. The number one (1) indicates this final grade may include assignments that are not yet published by the teacher. It may also be a result of special weighting used by the teacher. Click the special weighting link for more information.
PowerSchool Parent PortalAttendance • On the Grades and Attendance screen click on a number in the Absence or Tardies column to view the absences or tardies for the selected class during this term. The Dates of Attendance page will appear.

PowerSchool Parent PortalAttendance • To view the absences or tardies for ALL classes during the current term, click the YTD number in the Attendance Totals row. The Dates of Absence or Dates of Tardies page will appear.

PowerSchool Parent PortalEmail Notifications • Setting up email notifications in the parent portal allows parents/guardians to receive notices from the school via email regarding student’s grades, attendance, assignments, school bulletins, and balance alerts. • Enter your email address using commas to separate multiple email addresses (do not use any spaces), for example: jane.doe@domain.com,john.doe@domain.org • Specify what email notices you would like to receive and how often. • Click submit to save your changes.
PowerSchool Parent PortalTeacher Comments • Click on the Teacher Comments icon to view any comments the teacher(s) may have entered regarding such things as student’s achievement and/or behavior. • You may click on the teacher’s name (in blue) to send them an email. NOTE: If you do not see any comments (information) the teacher has not entered any for the student. You may email the teacher if you do not see any information. Teachers’ names will appear here.
PowerSchool Parent PortalSchool Bulletins • Use the School Bulletins page to read any bulletins the school has posted. This is an excellent way to stay informed.
PowerSchool Parent PortalBalance Screen • Click on the Balance icon to view the student’s current lunch balance and current fee balance. This is an excellent resource to use to ensure your child has funds in their lunch account at all times.
PowerSchool Parent PortalSchool Information Screen • Click on School Information from the menu at the left to view the school’s address, phone number and fax number.
