It was built as one of the „iron ring“ of north Wales Castles by the English monarch Edward I to stamp his authority on the Welsh. But it was never finished. Beaumaris Castle
Caernarfon Castle Mighty Caernarfon is possibly the most famous of Wales‘s many castles. Its sheer scale and commanding Presence easily set it apart from the rest and, to this day, still trumpet in no uncertaun term in the intentions of ist builder, Edward I. Begun in 1283 as the definitive chapter in his conquest of Wales, Caernarfon was constrcted not only as a military stronghold but also as a seat of goverment and royal place.
Harlech Castle In the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Ironically this castle built by Edward I held the court of Owain Glyndwr in 1404. Its history goes back to neolithic times
