By registering at www.aone.org, you’ll gain access to the members-only areas of both AONE and the American Hospital Association websites. You will also have access to all of your membership information on MyAONE. Registration for the websites is easy – your username is your email address and you choose your own password when you complete the registration. If you purchased your membership online, your account is already created. Register on the AONE Website

Career Center The AONE Online Career Center provides a comprehensive array of services for nurse leaders and employers alike. Online Communities Six online communities are available to AONE members only. Vendor Directory The AONE Online Marketplace is a searchable directory of suppliers of goods and services for nurse leaders. In an easy to use format, you can search by topic or specific vendor category Some of the categories are: Business Management Facility Equipment/Services Patient Care Products/Services Safety/Security This resource also allows you to request additional information from the vendor and add or edit the listings to personalize it for your department needs. This tool can be accessible at any time from the AONE website (login required).
AONE Credentialing Center (AONE-CC) Demonstrate your commitment to your field of nursing practice and validate your high level of knowledge and skill by becoming certified. The AONE Credentialing Center (AONE-CC)—a division of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE)—offers two certifications: Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP)This program includes an exam based on the AONE Nurse Executive Competencies, a set of skills commonly used by the health care field to design job descriptions, set expectations, and evaluate nurse leaders. Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) AONE and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) have expanded their partnership to develop the first certification exam designed exclusively for nurse managers. This certification programs provide a way for nurse managers to validate that they have acquired the essential knowledge and skills necessary to be effective in their role.

AONE Publications Voice of Nursing Leadership, AONE’s bi-monthly newsletter informs members about AONE activities, upcoming programs and the latest accomplishments and achievements of AONE members. Nurse Leader, AONE’s official bi-monthly magazine, provides the vision, skills and tools needed by nurses currently in, or aspiring to, leadership positions. AONE Advocacy & Policy Through its grassroots of network of 49 State Chapters, AONE keeps abreast of the latest issues affecting nursing on the legislative, regulatory and practice fronts. AONE provides the chapter leadership with up-to-date information on a variety of topics and allows the membership to access the most current information from government and other private and public sources through a leader list serve. And through quarterly chapter calls, AONE members are able to network and share with their colleagues across the country. AONE has a dynamic policy process that is guided by the AONE Strategic Plan. Policy papers are developed under the direction of the AONE Board of Directors, with input from the membership. Learn how AONE serves members with legislative activity.
AONE Foundation The AONE Foundation for Nursing Leadership Research & Education (AONE Foundation) was established in 2010 to support the research and educational priorities of AONE. The AONE Foundation’s activities and programs include annual seed grants to fund nursing research projects in the areas of patient safety, workforce, work environment, evidence-based management practices, and leadership development, the Mentor Award, honoring a nurse in executive practice who has been exemplary in supporting the professional development of his/her colleagues, and the Nurse Researcher Award, which recognizes an individual who has advanced the nursing leadership through research studies and publications. Center for Care Innovation and Transformation (CCIT) To build on the success of TCAB (Transforming Care at the Bedside), AONE has developed the Center for Care Innovation and Transformation (CCIT), a new program whose foundation will be the basic tenets of TCAB, though will go further in addressing nursing leadership needs, culture change, and health care reform implementation. The program serves as a resource for nurse leaders seeking to transform not only the way they care for patients, but also the culture in which they find themselves working, so that innovation and transformation becomes a daily pattern. CCIT performance measures will be aligned with the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence (HPOE) initiative, where participating hospitals will collect and report data according to the HPOE guidelines. This will enable standardization of reporting across the country.

Membership Renewal Renewing your AONE membership is simple! You will automatically receive an invoice and email reminders when your membership is about to expire. At this point, you can either renew by phone, fax, online with a credit card, or via mail with a check or credit card.
