Task force objectives and timeline 08 09 10 • Recommend structure of Faculty Governance that Faculty Assemblies will approve in April/May • Continue FGEC interface between Chancellor and Task Force • Develop faculty compensation plan for service
Suggested ground rules 08 09 10 • Show respect for others • Keep an open mind, be willing to share • Process comments, suggestions adequately • Stay focused • Avoid passivity, domination • Address confidentiality • Record appropriate information • Adopt a method to reach decisions
What we accomplished so far 08 09 10 • General agreement on a phasing process and structure – more work to be done • Chancellor’s commitment for compensation • Review of peer schools re consolidation

Transition characteristics Spring 08 09 10 • Keep current committees • Those committees targeted for active participation from both campuses will serve as pilots • Co-chairs, one from each campus with compensation • Video or web/conferencing meetings • Retreat for orientation • Committees will explore each campus and share concerns • Responsible for evaluating the pilot • Those committees that are not pilots will function as they do now. However, faculty from both campuses can participate.
Transition characteristics Spring 08 09 10 • Assemblies stay separate but have more articulation • At least one joint meeting of assemblies • One retreat each semester alternating location • Continue Executive Faculty Governance Committee • Separate assembly budgets • FGEC will promote the value of shared governance • Brochures, Forums, meetings, etc.
