Northern Plains Tribal Epidemiology Center Mission To collaborate with Northern Plains American Indian Tribes to provide health-related research, surveillance, and training to improve the quality of life of American Indians. Goal To provide accurate and timely health data to member tribes.
3 NPTEC Domains Epidemiology Support the Aberdeen Area tribes in accessing timely, accurate, and useful health status data. Public Health Practice Support critical public health functions for Northern Plains tribal people. Research Collaborate with academic institutions including tribal community colleges and tribal schools to ensure that the benefits of well designed and culturally sensitive health research are available to Northern Plains Indian communities.

Northern Plains Tribal Epidemiology Center • Develop collaborative relationships with partners; • Assess and improve surveillance and monitoring systems for American Indian populations (data collection, quality, access, and reporting); • Collaborate with local partners to utilize data at the programmatic level; • Develop and implement risk reduction programs; • Develop and implement epidemiologic studies; and • Cooperate with investigations of outbreaks and elevated rates.
