  7. Backing Up • Must be done weekly • Back up school work to personal network folder • Back up personal files to • CD-RW • Pen-drive • External hard-drive • Personal files should not be backed up on the network • For 6th Grade it is a part of their tech grade

Software on Tablets • Licensed software that is required for the ASB curriculum is pre-installed • You can install personal software on your Tablet with permission (parental and school) • All requests for additional software must be processed through ASB’s Tech Office • Requests for installation of personal software are subject to review to ensure that they do not interfere with or compromise the security of the school's network • Pirated software will not be installed on your tablet

  9. Tablet Battery Life The ASB expectation is to arrive at school with two fully charged batteries. Battery Conditioning • At the beginning break in your battery by charging and discharging a minimum of 3 times to ensure longer battery life • After the third recharge, then you can start recharging when the battery is low and not dead • If a battery has not been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery "break in" procedure described above. • The first charges should be overnight – 12 hours • Keep away from extreme temperatures

Warranty • 3 years parts warranty covers hardware failure and defective equipment • One year battery and stylus warranty • Labor covered for three years in Mumbai when you are a member of ASB • International warranty covers only parts • Physical damage is not covered under warranty or insurance

  11. Insurance • Physical damage is not covered under insurance or warranty • Insurance will not cover damage when not kept in the school provided tablet bag • Insurance will cover only theft and accidental damage • Damage due to negligence is not covered • Only up to two claims can be made during a year. The rest will be fully chargeable.
