    10. 27.07.2010 MapAsia2010 10 Our approach

    11. 27.07.2010 MapAsia2010 11 PGIS applications boundary dispute settlements -Verplanke, J. J. & McCall,M. K. (2003), Khem, P. (2006) slum mapping -Lemma.T, Sliuzas.R & Kuffer.M(2006) environmental monitoring such as soil information mapping -Barrera-Bassols, Narciso; Zinck, J. Alfred & van Ranst, E (2009) , community managed forests -Jordan, Gavin (2002) , Minang.P.A & McCall.M(2006) hazard risk identification including vulnerability assessments, health risk mapping, crime mapping etc -McCall, M.K.(2008) …..

    12. 27.07.2010 MapAsia2010 12 Why web based PGIS? Web - > people oriented overcome barriers in participation time, place & cost increased participation of large communities support create groups and host activities support for different form of applications multimedia spatial analysis tools. -Kyem,P.A.K. & Saku,J.C (2009) which otherwise would be impossible to integrate. which otherwise would be impossible to integrate.

    13. 27.07.2010 MapAsia2010 13 Overview of the Proposed Approach

    14. 27.07.2010 MapAsia2010 14 Proposed Approach : Technology

    15. 27.07.2010 MapAsia2010 15 Technology Stack of FOSS GIS tools only a normal desktop browser is required and no knowledge of technology is assumed from the user. Only vector data is used for the system. All the data are in 1:10000 scale , in local coordinate system. only a normal desktop browser is required and no knowledge of technology is assumed from the user.
