  1. NCR Summary • 8 NCRs were generated during TMCM preproduction • NCR #00029, CLOSED • Re-qualification of Omnetics connector is required based on process and design revision. • NCR #00041, OPEN- Cause and Corrective Action submitted • Finish machining dimensions did not meet dimension specified on drawing. • Configuration management process was not adhered to, released drawing was not revised and re-released to reflect correct dimensions. • Tracker meeting held to review drawing release & configuration management process. • Drawing was updated with correct finish machine dimensions and released. PWBs were re-inspected per released design.

  2. NCR Summary • NCR #00042, OPEN- Cause and Corrective Action submitted • One PWB dispositioned “scrap” for exposed copper • One PWB dispositioned “scrap” for foreign material/stain • Qty 9 TMCMs RTV for re-label of Serial No. Traceability maintained, Re-inspection will be performed. • NCR #00043, OPEN- Cause and Corrective Action submitted • Omnetics connector saver is being redesigned; 1) Jack screw too long. 2) Gap under jack screw introducing stress and bond of plastic body to alum. shell fails. 3) Low shear strength of bond line. • Redesign complete, NCR will remain open until redesign verified.

  3. NCR Summary • NCR #00044, OPEN- Cause and Corrective Action submitted • GSFC rejected dielectric thickness per IPC-6011, Class 3 • Configuration management was not adhered to. TMCMs were built to unreleased rev. 6. • Tracker Meeting held to review configuration management process. • Design released, parts meets dielectric requirement. • NCR #00046, CLOSED • Teledyne reported SN 176 to have physical damage to Pitch Adaptor traces. Unit passed Final Electrical Test. • Disposition preproduction unit “use-as-is”. Teledyne reviewed handling procedures to preclude recurrence.

  4. NCR Summary • NCR #00048, CLOSED • GSFC rejected panel #152 coupon test for internal annular rings shorter that 0.002 inches. • Audit performed on all 00077 PWBs in bldg. 33. • 152-2 & 152-4 scrapped. • 152-1, 152-3, 152-5 were utilized in non-flight preproduction MCMs. These MCMs are marked non-flight, introduction into flight stream is not possible. • NCR #00050, CLOSED • GSFC rejected panel #158 coupon test for internal annular rings shorter that 0.002 inches. • All nonconforming PWBs (qty 4) located and quarantined in Bldg. 33 MRB cabinet.

  5. Preproduction Waivers • Waivers were requested and granted during TMCM preproduction for the following: • Source inspection not performed • Source Inspector hired • Reject compound wire bond per MIL-STD-883 • Test in process to translate original wire bond on die off -center to allow room for re-bond if required. • Second application of encapsulation to cover exposed wire bonds near ends of TMCM. • Standard rework instructions developed • Wire bond over disturbed metal • Test in process to translate original wire bond on die off -center to allow room for re-bond if required.
