Content Language Objective: To understand skills and knowledge necessary for constructing a persuasive essay (appeals and cinematic techniques,) by working in small groups to question peers about the expectations of the assignment, and to collaborate as a class to clarify misunderstandings
Persuading a Director • Read over the assignment individually, and annotate for important information. • In your small group: • Each group will have a section of the assignment to examine and become experts on. • Each member will create a question about their section of the assignment. • Ask your question in your group to get clarification
Ask the Class • Summarize the expectations in your section of the assignment to the class. • Ask your three questions to the class to gather clarifying answers • Take notes on answers to questions that are important to understanding the assignment
Questions • Were there any questions that did not get answered? • Write 2-3 sentences about a section of the assignment that became clearer after the discussion
