  6. Observations Team – Now To Launch • AOT Definition • Not expecting much activity before launch • AOT Validation • Checks AOTs (and/or data processing) are executed as expected will be made from FS and SOVT-1 campaigns • Data Processing Requirements • Top level requirements now fairly mature, on-going work by various teams into effectiveness of various algorithms • Acceptance Testing • Scientific Validation • Based on user releases, currently validating version linked to HCSS 0.6.4 (frozen on Sept 1st) • Phase 2 will start with HCSS 0.6.5 (frozen on October 13th) • This version will support December workshop • HSC planning at least one more release before launch ICC Plans Tanya Lim 6

  7. Software Team – Now To Launch • Data Processing • Working towards HCSS releases • Some module coding still to be done • Infrastructure updates (affecting all modules) • Reacting to requirement changes • Interactive Analysis • Moving more into focus as basic pipeline reaches completion • Software Infrastructure • Completion of Plot, Product Access • Extended Work packages • Test support, there will be: • Bug fixes and new problems found • New functionality found to be needed • Complete Helpdesk setup and system maintenance ICC Plans Tanya Lim 7

  8. Commissioning Phase • ICC will be located at MOC, RAL and external sites • All commissioning phase tests requiring real time contact with the spacecraft will be run from the MOC • Operations team staff will be required to support this • Running tests from MOC • Data transfer and consolidation at RAL • Logging, Health Monitoring, Trend Analysis • Supporting briefings • CALT staff and consortium experts will be required for test analysis, this will probably most efficiently be done by co-location at RAL • Cooler Recycle • Mechanism Tuning • Detector performance and baseline setup parameters • Pointing ICC Plans Tanya Lim 8

  9. PV Phase Overview • ICC will be based at RAL, co-location there is strongly encouraged • Key features of this phase are: • Concentration of effort • Likely to need 7 day a week working (at least for operations team) • Need for quick analysis of some observations • Potential fast turn around time • Frequent (daily) reviews of progress • Focus on establishing baseline performance for release of AOTs ICC Plans Tanya Lim 9

  10. PV Phase Meetings • Regular meetings • Daily ESA debrief (Tanya only) • Daily SPIRE de-brief – 1 hr; • Before ESA debrief • Core ICC co-located staff + ESA HSC staff • Some others by videocon • Fortnightly SDAG sessions, ~ 3hrs, follow on from daily debrief` ICC Plans Tanya Lim 10

  11. PV Phase • ESA Reviews • ESA End of Commissioning Phase review (will overlap with PV (pointing)) • ESA end of PV review • We should have internal review before ESA PV review (Structured like SVR, Appropriate reports to be produced, Invite consortium) • End of Science Demonstration Phase review • Science Demonstration report needed beforehand • Should make recommendations on scientific validation even though pipeline may not be fully sorted out • Observers need to be involved (will have been involved in data analysis) • Will include PR and science (separated) • We should plan on recommending what AOTs can start to be scheduled ICC Plans Tanya Lim 11

  12. PV Phase • Operational team will be required for • Data transfer and consolidation at RAL • Operational logging, health monitoring, trend analysis • Updating/troubleshooting the OBS • Updating and delivering uplink tables • Updating and delivering AOTs • Operating helpdesk ICC Plans Tanya Lim 12

  13. PV Phase • ICC will be based at RAL, co-location there is strongly encouraged • CALT will be required for • Analysing PV phase observations • Evaluation of instrument performance • Updating calibration CUS scripts if necessary • Re-planning • Delivery of re-planned observations • Production of new calibration files (uplink and downlink) • Validating effectiveness of new Cal files with the data processing ICC Plans Tanya Lim 13

  14. PV Phase • ICC will be based at RAL, co-location there is strongly encouraged • Some work at external sites • ISDT will be required for • Keeping things running, troubleshooting • Reacting to SxRs • Supporting ongoing improvements to infrastructure • Updating data processing software to reflect AOT changes • Ingesting calibration data • Delivering new versions of data processing ICC Plans Tanya Lim 14

  15. PV Phase • ICC will be based at RAL, co-location there is strongly encouraged • Some work at external sites • ISDT will be required for • Keeping things running, troubleshooting • Reacting to SxRs • Supporting ongoing improvements to infrastructure • Updating data processing software to reflect AOT changes • Ingesting calibration data • Delivering new versions of data processing ICC Plans Tanya Lim 15

  16. Routine Phase Overview • ICC will be based at RAL and external sites • Main features of this phase will be • Continued instrument health monitoring • Trend analysis • Consolidation and improvement of instrument calibration • Consolidation and improvement of data processing algorithms • Improvements to interactive analysis • Investigations of issues reported by ICC/Consortium/HSC • Maintenance of ICC systems • Support for six monthly data processing/IA cycles (code updates, integration, acceptance testing, scientific validation) ICC Plans Tanya Lim 16

  17. Routine Phase Meetings • DP updates expected to be on a six monthly cycle: • Corresponding SPIRE Cycle of activity to prepare for these releases • Several months preparation needed for each release • Intention is to link this cycle with routine phase ICC meetings • Every 2 months at least for first 1-2 years • Normally at RAL • SDAG Meetings • Every 2 or 4 months • Participation from both ICC and consortium • Attached to and before ICC meetings to reduce travel and allow findings to be fed back to ICC meetings • ICCMT will probably continue meeting monthly by videocon • ICC Teams will continue to meet by telecon, also ad-hoc face to face meetings as required by team leaders ICC Plans Tanya Lim 17

  18.
