GuloguloThe largest land dwelling member of the weasel family -Animals have distinct white markings on body which act as a fingerprint unique to each individual. -An adult can be over 40” long and weigh from 20 to 50 lbs.
Primary Food Sources Carrion: The decaying carcass of a dead animal (caro = meat) • Skunk • Beaver • Follow Your Nose • A strong sense of smell leads them to dig holes in the snow to find food sources • This animal is feeding on a piece of road kill elk hind quarter
Winter recreation overlapping winter home ranges of three known pairs of wolverines • All s females prepared den sites • F3 showed more movement than F1 and F2 • F3 showed viable reproductively • F2 showed viable reproductively, lower rate • F1 showed no viable reproductively, however den site was prepared
Mating • Occurs in Summer • Implantation of embryo is stayed until early winter • Gestation period is 30 – 50 days • 2-3 Kits are born in spring • Females will often not produce young if food is scarce
