Cohort F Writing up the Research Plan
Introduction Slide • Timeline of Experimental Plan • Measurements at each embryo stage
This will show you where your two experiments will fit in • Remember in order to properly experiment each experiment should be done three times to evaluate the significance of your observations Wrap Up Sessions: Conclusions and Posters Experiment 1: Dose-Response Relationships Experiment 2: Observational Relationships Lab Meeting 2 Lab Meeting 1 Two meetings before Exp2 Two meetings before Conclusions Scientific Training Meeting 2
Dose Resonse Experimental Design: 1 Yellow dotted- yolk sac measurement Red box- yolk sac visual acuity Pink line- angle of body showing curvature of spine
Exp 2 Measurements • Measuring end of life in zebrafish development • Measuring growth defects • Measuring Cardiovascular anomalies (functional)
Growth of Zebrafish during Development • You will measure embryos, in a length measurement. At each stage you will report this number. • One the y-axis you will show a measurement and x-axis, experimental conditions
End Zebrafish Development • You will measure the number of embryos you start with, and then each day make this measurement, until early development. At each stage you will report this number. • One the y-axis you will show percent survival and x-axis experimental conditions
Cardiovascular Development Measurements • You will measure heart rate, every 0.5 mins to generate a velocity curve • The y-axis will look the a same as the graph provided and the x-axis will read time, min
