Site Standards Program Update for SRS Presented by Jim McAndrews WSRC, SRS ESWOG 5/20/03

Closure Business Unit • Emphasis is to funnel resources into cleanup and removal of old facilities. • Closure Projects to be completed over next 3 years • F Canyon • FB Line • Waste Tanks (some) • M Area, • Main Administration Building (703-A)
A Closure Project • Facility Disposition Projects completed the required historical work and received notification from DOE-SR to proceed as scheduled to dismantle and remove the 320-M Alloy Production/Manufacturing facility and 322-M Metallurgical Lab. The 320-M and 322-M buildings are part of the plan to dismantle and remove six buildings from M Area (313-M, 320-M, 322-M, 330-M, 331-M and 340-M).
A Closure Project(Continued) • The 313-M, 320-M and 322-M buildings are eligible for the National Registry of Historical Buildings. This requires completing prerequisites prior to any work that significantly alters the buildings. The prerequisites include aerial photographs, exterior photographs, interior photographs showing representative use of space and special large format photography of significant areas of interest as identified by the certified historians. The prerequisites are listed in a Memorandum of Agreement between DOE-SR and the South Carolina Historical Preservation Office.
