Costumes help to show#1 A Character's Age Can tell us how old a character is or how old they want you to think they are
Costumes help to show#2 Gender Can tell us whether the character is male or female and will wear things that emphasizes the fact
Costumes help to show#3 Time Period Can tell us when we are in time going back to the prehistoric time to the present
Costumes help to show#4 Social Status Can show us how much money a person makes or what their rank in society is.
Costumes help to show a #5 character’s Personality AND MOOD Can tell us how their character’s general behavior is
