The International Biogeography Society The International Biogeography Society (IBS; http://www.biogeography.org/) is a non-profit organization, founded in 2001, with the mission to: Foster communication and collaboration between biogeographers in disparate academic fields - scientists who would otherwise have little opportunity for substantive interaction and collaboration. Increase both the awareness and interests of the scientific community and the lay public in the contributions of biogeographers. Promote the training and education of biogeographers so that they may develop sound strategies for studying and conserving the world’s biota. Membership • Membership begins at $30.00 per year for students with a discount for members in developing countries and options to contribute to initiatives promoting biogeography and diversity • In addition to supporting the society, becoming a member of IBS provides several personal advantages: • the opportunity to participate in international meetings of the Society • discounts (up to 20%) on books published in association with IBS • free online access to four of Wiley-Blackwell's journals: Journal of Biogeography, Global Ecology & Biogeography, Diversity & Distributions, and Ecography, all journals covering aspects of biogeography and ecology • a 20% discount on access to two additional Wiley-Blackwell journals: Journal of Avian Biology and Oikos • open access to and reduced publication costs in Frontiers of Biogeography ***6th International Conference, Florida USA, January 2013*** Frontiers of Biogeography Frontiers of Biogeography (ISSN 1948-6596) is the scientific magazine of the IBS. The journal includes scientific opinions and perspectives, research reviews, news, book reviews, interviews, and articles on how to teach, disseminate, and apply biogeographical knowledge. Frontiers of Biogeography is published quarterly online at http://escholarship.org/uc/fb.Frontiers of Biogeography invites students, researchers, and professionals practicing biogeography to submit articles for the next issue.
