These slides are best understood if viewed while listening to the downloadable talks. They include photographs of the sketches Mike made ‘live’ while speaking at the Solent Gospel Partnership Seminar. We have tried to put them into the correct order and we’ve given some description (in our own words) to help you reference them more easily. We hope they’re of help.
In the top diagram, Mike was describing the four main areas of church life. Worship (W), Community (C), Discipleship (D) and Mission (M). He was asking the question, ‘What if the church was really organised around Mission?’ Three reasons why we should consider mission as being the organising principle.
Mike was describing the principles which they seek to live out as a community. They have principles rather than values. He said that these were for illustration only as each church should sort out these for themselves according to their cultural situation.
In engaging in mission, these were the three questions that Mike’s church ask themselves. Below that you will see a brief sketch of the three areas within which we live: Home, Work and the Great Good Place (GGP). For Christians the GGP is usually church, and there ‘isn’t room’ for a fourth place.
