ReBoot™ ReBoot™ - a statewide, collaborative effort dedicated to actively promoting independence for people with disabilities through Assistive Technology & Computer Refurbishment. Donation Policy • Donations are accepted for our refurbishment & redistribution mission • Reasons for established policy • To set a minimum standard for equipment • To assure space capacity is not overextended • To assure staff time is not spent in handling items that have no refurbishment value • To assure that donations do not increase “cost of doing business”
Donation Acceptance • Walk Ins & Bulk Pickups (10 or more items) • Recycling fees ($10) assist with recycling, handling cost, refurbishment and sustainability • Donors are assured that hard drives are wiped by Dept of Defense software or shredded through a Recycler )
Determine Reuse, Refurbish, or Recycle • Visual Inspection to determine what to do with the equipment • Pull Hard Drive (wipe or destroy) • Reuse – send to testing and cleanup • Refurbish – send to technician • Recycle – send to End of Life Technology
Wiping the Hard Drive • DOD wiping software - www.dban.org/download (Certificate of Wiping) • Shred Drive (Certificate of Destruction) • Wiped Hard Drives are tested • Drives used in refurbishment process (MAR) • Classification by size of Drive (≥20 GB)

Issuing Computer • Appointment set with consumer to issue directly or issue to an Outreach Center for the consumer • Training at time of issuing (training & liability forms) • Taking care of your computer • Connecting to the internet (if applicable) • Directions for Spyware, Virus Protection Program & Windows updates
ReBoot™ Technical Support Certified Technicians provide: • Help desk available by phone • Computer repairs done at our site • 3 month to 1 year warranties on all • hardware • ReBoot™ support training for • Outreach Sites
Recycling • Warehouse Space Allocation • Segregate material to be recycled • Adapt to market demands • Follow EPA & State Requirements • Choose a true recycler, do not use a scrap dealer • Have full truck load pick-ups
