  3. Childhood • His father beat him when he was young. • Favorite game was cowboys and Indians.

  4. School • Hitler attended many different schools in his life. • He was also in the monastery school choir.

  5. World war one • He is a decorated veteran of world war one. • Corporal Hitler was a dispatch runner, taking messages back and forth from the command staff. • He never complained about anything.

  6. Nazi party • Hitler joined the Nazi Party in 1919. • He became leader in 1921.

  7. Germany • Within three years, Germany and the Axis powers had occupied most of Europe, and most of northern Africa, East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific Ocean. • However, with the reversal of the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, the Allies gained the upper hand from 1942

  8. Nazi party in 1944 • Allied armies had invaded German-held Europe from all sides. • Nazi forces engaged in numerous violent acts during the war, including the systematic murder of as many as 17 million civilians.

  9. Hitler and his wife • Hitler married his long-time mistress Eva Braun in 1945.

  10. Suicide • To avoid capture by Soviet forces less than two days later, after marring Eva Braun the two committed suicide on 30 April 1945
