Looking for English ivy is easy. It is found in most Seattle parks like Salmon Bay Park, Carkeek Park, Gasworks Park, and Discovery Park.
Controlled English Ivy English ivy is easy to control if it is young, grab the stem of the plant with gloves then pull out the plant (try to get the roots). Then put it in the green waste. Try to get it when it is young because it is easier to remove then. If you want to keep it, control it by cutting the top of it every once in a while. Try to get it when it is young it is easier to remove then. English ivy can be a good plant if you can control it but if you don’t want it take it out. Controlled is better then uncontrolled English ivy is an invasive species. So you shouldn’t plant it
English ivy English ivy is not from Washington it is an invasive species from Europe. It was mainly meant as a garden plant in England. An invasive species is a plant or animal that comes from another place taking over the new area it is in.
Suggestions • Trim and do not put hands on ivy, use gloves • Spray with herbicides (you can find them at most garden centers) • Try to remove when young it can be removed easier then if it is old
