Requirements • Beginning in 2013-2014 • Evaluate the district's performance and the performance of each campus in the district. • Use criteria developed by a local committee. Region 8 ESC
Evaluate and assign performance ratings for each of the following programs or specific categories: • Fine Arts • Wellness and physical education • Community and parental involvement • The 21st Century Workforce Development Program (College credit and Licensure) • The second language acquisition program • The digital learning environment • Dropout prevention strategies • Educational programs for gifted and talented students • Overall rating Region 8 ESC
Assign the district and each campus a performance rating from one of the following: • Exemplary • Recognized • Acceptable • Unacceptable Region 8 ESC
Requirements (cont.) • The record of the district and each campus regarding compliance with statutory reporting and policy requirements. This measure is shown to be in compliance with a “met standard” rating. Region 8 ESC
Report to TEA each performance rating no later than August 8 of each year. • Make the ratings publicly available by August 8. • Make the ratings available on TEA’s website by October 1 of each year. Region 8 ESC

PEIMS Reporting info • To comply with the new TEC requirements, TEA has added elements to the PEIMS Data Standards for collection of the ratings for each district and campus, as well as an element for the collection of the self‐reporting of compliance. • THIS INFORMATION WILL BE REPORTED IN THE PEIMS SUBMISSION 3: SUMMER COLLECTION ON THE • 010 DISTRICT AND 020 CAMPUS RECORDS. • Ratings must be available for reporting prior to the closing date for Submission 3 on June 26, 2014. Ratings must be reported in the initial submission, but districts will have an opportunity to adjust their ratings through the Submission 3 Resubmission period which closes July 24, 2014. It is imperative to allow sufficient time to complete the evaluation process and provide the ratings to the district’s PEIMS Coordinator for coding and submitting PEIMS files in advance of these closing dates.
