  3. What is Videoconferencing? • Live, 2-way audio & video communication • Allows active participation with the video/TV screen

  5. What is a Virtual Field Trip? • A simulated, real-time field trip taken in the comfort of your school • Students interact in a live event with a remotely located field trip host

Advantages of Virtual Field Trips • Exposes students to the world around them • Removes all barriers (physical and environmental) • Minimal cost (free- average $125) • Minimal time off task (travel time) • Minimal teacher preparation – most providers send a packet • Aligned with standards • Enhances curriculum • Allows students to interact with professionals

CILC Educational Content: • More than 900 teacher-evaluated, national standards-based programs • Partners with over 150 national and international content providers to offer programs ranging from the sciences to math to history and more • You can post and search for collaborative learning opportunities to engage students in active learning exchange
