  8. How IS BREXIT AFFECTING IMMIGRANTS? • A Welsh Muslim who campaigned to remain in the EU was told to "pack her bags and go home" soon after the vote to leave the European Union. • "Don't see how this country can heal itself. The UK is my home yet I feel alienated."

WHY DID PEOPLE REALLY VOTE FOR THE BREXIT? • It was a protest by those who are uncomfortable with the social changes in Britain in recent decades, particularly with immigration. • Last year, net migration to the UK rose to 333,000 - the second-highest figure ever. • The figure for migration from EU countries was 184,000 - (Wheatstone, 2016)

Influence of the media on eu referendum • The Sun and The Times have both taken different sides in the Brexit debate. • It is claimed that politicians and labor power have substantial power to influence people’s votes. • "The press doesn't just influence public opinion, it also has an impact on other news outlets, particularly the broadcasters,” (BBC News, 2016)
