  15. Entrance Procedures • Enter the room and find your seat; class officially begins when one of us closes the door • Get started on the Do Now

  16. Class Supplies • 2 composition books • Glue sticks • Highlighters • Colored pencils • Post-it notes • Loose-leaf notebook paper • 2 boxes of tissues • Hand sanitizer • Index cards

  18. Grading Scale • Classwork 20% • Notebook 15% • Quizzes 15% • Homework 10% • Quarterly assessments 10% • Performance tasks 30% (projects, papers and tests)

  19. What we’ll do this year • Short stories • Research Paper • Novels • Poetry • Writing • Homework: complete 30 minutes of reading each night, must be signed by parent/guardian to get credit. • www.schoolrack.com/dynamicduo

  20. 2nd CORE lunch expectations: • Line up for lunch in the same waves as lockers (we will call you) • Sit at our assigned tables • We will have a first call and a last call for leaving the cafeteria; if you arrive to class after last call you will be marked tardy

  21. Homeroom • Once you’re in; you’re in • Stand during the Pledge • Quiet during announcements • Turn in absence notes to Ms. Harrod • There is no leaving from afternoon homeroom until your bus is called
