Forum on Tracking Detector Mechanics 3-4 July 2012 • 119 persons subscribed to the Forum (room capacity 120 persons). • ~50 travelling from outside CERN • 16 talks: 30 min + 15 min discussion • Excellent talks, thanks to all speakers! • 2 late-comer talks by CMS and Atlas on Higgs search • Thanks to both speakers, and congratulations to all the people involved to make these results possible! • As planned, wide range of topics and points of view • Lessons from the past Tracking detectors • On-going work towards future Tracking detectors • As planned, cooling systems were not included in the agenda. • Cooling fills an event easily. • We wanted to cover now also other topics, maybe currently less hot, but still important. Similar events in the future? What would you like to be covered in future events?

Future events on Tracking Detector Mechanics? • Possible topics are many: • Cooling • Mass and mechanics of electronics • Thermal management materials • Support structures • Initial precision and mass of the structures vs. alignment with tracks • Reliability, testing, risk management • Work in the LS3, radiation, ... • Etc. • Annual, bi-annual, ...?
