  2. Introduction The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say. ~Anaïs Nin. This quote means that writers have a responsibility to relate to others in a way that they can relate to themselves n a personal level; we are here to help you try to know yourself better than you did before you started reading. In order to get a better understanding of my chosen career field as an author, I will be researching: the nature of work (responsibilities), workingconditions,training,qualifications, advancement (education), joboutlook, and earnings, in doing so I hope I will have a better understanding of my career.

Nature of Work • Choose subject matter that interests readers • Write fiction or nonfiction through scripts, novels, and biographies • Conduct research to obtain factual information and authentic detail • Present drafts to editors and clients for feedback • Work with editors and clients to shape the material so it can be published

  9. Summary After researching my career I am still interested in perusing being a writer as my career. I look forward to coming up with ideas to write my book about. The only thing I do not enjoy about my career is doing research about my book for titles that have already been used or searching for what to write. What I learned from this research is that writers do not get paid as much as I thought they did. Even though my secondary career pays more I would still like to pursue being an author because it is my passion.
