  2. Sir Ernest Shackleton • Sir Ernest Shackleton was born on the 15th of February 1874. He died on the 5th of January 1922 at the age of 47, from a heart attack. • Shackleton lead his second Antarctic expedition to within 156km of the South Pole. • He only turned back if his supplies had run out.

  3. Sir Robert Falcon Scott. • Sir Robert Falcon Scott was born on the 6th of June 1868. He died on March the 29th 1912 aged 66. (died from heart disease) • He had a bad Financial Crisis in 1894. His family went homeless, without him and they had a financial disaster.

  4. Why Do People Go To Antarctica Now? • A modern day explorer Curtis Lieber, he is a Russian man. • Curtis Lieber is a very modern day and famous explorer. He has lead and organized many North Pole and South Pole Expeditions for many years. 

  5. How long have Australians been exploring Antarctica? • It has been over a century that people have been travelling to Antarctica. • Scientists have been one of the many people who have been going there. To discover wildlife, climate and anything that has changed throughout the years. • Though, in an average year there is over 4,000 tourists each year.
