  2. التَّنوينُandالنُّونُ السَّاكِنَةُ recap التَّنوينُis an extra noon at the end of nouns, pronounced when continuing and dropped when stopping or changed to an alif with a stretch of 2 counts. التَّنوينُlooks like this: Tanween Fetha Tanween Kesrah ن Tanween dhamma

  3. التَّنوينُandالنُّونُ السَّاكِنَةُ recap قالَ إِنَّهُ ۥ يَقُولُ إِنّها بَقَرَةٌ۬ لَّا فَارِضٌ۬ وَلَا بِكۡرٌ وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا ﴿ خُذُواْ مَآ ءَاتَيۡنَـٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ مَا فِيهِ

  4. التَّنوينُandالنُّونُ السَّاكِنَةُ recap النُّونُ السَّاكِنَةُis a noon without a vowel on it, occuring in the middle and end of nouns, verbs and prepositions, pronounced always and is written. صِرَاطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

  6. Degfinition of Idgham إدغام linguistically: It means merging. Applied Definition: It means merging a non-voweled letter with another voweled letter so that the two letters become one emphasized letter of the second type.

  7. Letters of Idgham ي ر م ل و نforming the word يرملون Idgham occurs when one word ends with النون الساكنةor التنوين and the immediate word after it begins with one of the above letters. The النون الساكنةor التنوين are then merged into the idgham letter. إدغامcan only be applied between two words and not within one word.

Types of Idgham: إدغامwith lengthened غنة • Its letters are: ي ن م و = ينمو • If one of ينمو letters immediately followالنون الساكنة in between two words: • do not pronounce النون الساكنة • pronounce the letter after it • Stretch the غنة to the same length as نون مُشَدّدَة . • If one of the إدغام بغنة letters ( ي ن م و" ينمو ") immediately follow التنوين in between two words then do not pronounce التنوين ; instead pronounce the vowel ( i.e. pronounce ُ instead of ٌ , َ instead of ً and ِinstead ofٍ ) then pronounce the letter after it with a غنة of two counts long.

Types of Idgham: إدغامwith lengthened غنة • If one of ينمو letters immediately follow التنوين in between two words: • Do not pronounce التنوين • Pronounce the vowel (i.e.ُ instead of ٌ , instead of and ِinstead ofٍ ) • pronounce the letter after it • Stretch the غنة to the same length as نون مُشَدّدَة .

Types of Idgham: إدغامwith lengthened غنة Its letters are: ي ن م و = ينمو Examples: ﴿قُلُوبٌ۬ يَوۡمئِذِوَاجِفَة﴾[ النازعات : 8] ﴿لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيها لَغۡواًوَلَا كِذَّابً۬ا﴾[النبأ:35] أَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقكُّم مِّنمَّآءٍ۬ مَّهِينٍ۬﴾[ المرسلات : 20] ﴿تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٍ۬ وَتَبَّ ﴾[ المسد : 1]

Types of Idgham: إدغامwithout غنة • Its letters are: ل ر • If one of the letters (ل ر ) immediately followالنون الساكنة or التنوين in between two words: • do not pronounce النون الساكنة or التنوين • pronounce the letter after it with a little emphasise to indicate the presence of a shedda. • No ghunnah!

  13. Types of Idgham: إدغامwithout غنة Its letters are: ل ر Examples: ﴿وَيۡلٌ۬ لِّڪُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ۬لُّمَزَةٍ﴾[ الهمزة : 8] ﴿سَلَـٰمٌ۬ قَوۡلاً۬ مِّنرَّبٍّ۬ رَّحِيمٍ۬ ﴾[ يس : 58]
